Understanding Cisco Wireless Foundations (WLFNDU) is a 5-day course that provides you with the basic theory and practical skills to plan, design, configure, operate, and troubleshoot wireless networks based on Cisco WLAN technology. The course builds an understanding of how wireless networks work, what standards apply and how to implement efficient and secure solutions.
Course Objective
In the course we go through:
Theory of wireless communication, RF principles and antennas
WLAN operation, Wi-Fi standards and basic security
Implementation of wireless networks including 802.1X/EAP and guest access
Cisco wireless architecture and key components
Design, installation, configuration and maintenance of WLAN networks
Troubleshooting and operational optimization of wireless solutions
Working with Cisco DNA Center for monitoring and management
Target Audience
The training is aimed at those who work with or will work with wireless networks, for example:
Network engineers
Systems engineers
Wireless engineers
Network administrators
Technical architects and operational engineers
Prerequisites
To benefit from the course, basic knowledge of networking, wireless networks, routing and switching is recommended before attending.
Certification
The course provides Continuing Education (CE) credits that can be used for renewal of Cisco certifications. It is not a certification course per se, but provides a solid foundation for further training and preparation for more advanced Cisco certifications.
